Problems of Teachers' Profesional Ethics' in the Context of Early Childhood Education in the Czech Republic

The thesis deals with the issues of teachers' professional ethics and maps the problems and complexities of the ethical dimension of pedagogical work. The first specific objective is to explore the moral value orientation of teachers and preschools in which they operate. The second specific objective is to describe the ethical dilemmas they encounter and their strategies for resolution. This description is supplemented by the author's perspective. The thesis consists of a theoretical part and an empirical part. In the theoretical part, basic concepts and theories related to ethics, philosophy of education, pedagogy, psychology, and sociology are explained. The first section describes the fundamental approaches to ethics and the philosophical view of the essence of education. It also outlines the issues of ethical codes. The second section focuses on educational processes and their factors. Emphasis is placed on the role of the educator in these processes and their competencies. It also describes the specifics of preschool-aged children and the role of the family and the broader social environment in their socialization. Moral dilemmas of the teacher in preschool education

In kindergartens, teachers encounter various moral dilemmas in the course of their professional lives. The diploma thesis focuses on these dilemmas and tries to identify them and find out how they are solved by pedagogues and how they further influence them in their work. The aim of the thesis is to provide an insight into this area of the professional activity of female teachers in preschool education and thus contribute to a better understanding of the topic and at the same time break down certain belittling attitudes that perceive moral dilemmas in kindergartens as irrelevant to the solution and moral formation of pedagogues. The theoretical part of the diploma thesis deals with ethics and morality, reveals the roots of these fields and their unsystematic or often missing grasp in the work of pedagogues, in their effect on the moral formation of pupils, describes the personality of the pedagogue from the point of view of morality and ethics, not forgetting the ethics of duty and the ethics of virtue . Moral distress of psychology teachers in secondary school

The Master's thesis focuses on moral distress of psychology teachers in secondary school The entire work is divided into two main parts a theoretical one and a practical one. The theoretical part displays and explains the fundamental meaning behind definitions such as an ethics, a morality, a stress and a moral distress. Moreover, the following represents the background of the psychology teaching in the Czech Republic and brief research that shows the moral distress on the psychology of teachers. On the other hand, the practical part shows the examples within the taken surveys of 10 psychology teachers. Where 8 out of 10 teachers have described 16 situations overall, from their practical experience which has led to various morally stressful situation. The main objective of this report is to find out what kind of situations are caused by the moral distress to the high school teachers. As well as how the school professionals face and solve those already mentioned situations. The answers to those facts will be provided by the applied quantitative research. Based on the results, the research has shown that the psychology teachers and the high school professionals has faced various morally stressful situations, where the root causes were primarily such as it follows: a school board, colleagues, students, parents of students, lectures. However, from the standpoint of the given surveys has not come out that the moral distress of the teachers would be primarily caused by the psychology teaching.
The Process of Moral Decision Making in Medical Profession

Bachelor thesis is focused on the decision-making process of doctors in moral dilemma situations. The theoretical part is engaged in the principles of medical ethics, also in defining the concepts of moral dilemma and moral integrity. Furthermore, it pays attention to present findings in the field of decision-making process besides the research of the moral distress experience. The practical part describes basic characteristics of decision-making in situations, that are viewed as dilemmatic by specific doctors with obstetrics and gynecology specialization. It also presents two models of doctor's moral decision-making which are founded on the first-person and third-person point of view. Followingly, the theory of moral (dis)integrity of doctors in dilemmatic situations was formed. The designed model of grounded theory originates from in-depth interview with five doctors with obstetrics and gynecology specialization.
DRAMA EDUCATION AND PUPILS MORAL DEVELOPMENT

This thesis talks about the pupil's moral development. It is focused primarily on possibilities of the moral development in drama education, eventually in some dramatic activities used during other lessons. The thesis is divided into two parts - theoretical and practical. At the beginning of the theoretical part it acquaints readers with basic information about the moral consciousness and behavior, analysis of the moral judgement of the child and possibilities of its measuring. It also presents drama education as a separated subject its principles and methods and it outlines the possibilities of the drama education in the pupil's moral development. The practical part contains the analysis of the primary school age pupil's moral judgement and comparison outcomes of the pupils who are taught using the methods of drama education and pupils, who have never experienced drama education. The goal of the empirical survey is to find out whether and to what extent the drama education influences the development of moral judgement of the pupils.
Ethics in business

This thesis presents a contribution to exploration of the business ethics area from the psychological point of view with focus on multidisciplinary character of the subject. The empirical part brings mapping study describing the implementation of the business ethics management system and its impacts on the employees' approaches using example of the specific company. The thesis tries to capture which company functions and operations are covered by the code of ethics, what steps and process were taken when implementing the code, if the implementation of the code influenced employees' approaches and relation to the employer and if the implementation of the code influenced the ways how employees solved their moral dilemmas. The qualitative research part of the thesis uses semi-structured interviews, company documents analysis and observation.

Selected Problems of Moral Education in the Contemporary Society

The aim of the bachelor thesis is to analyse the change of value orientation by society evolution since the Enlightenment to the postmodern situation. Next aim is the analysis of the actual state of moral education at school. At first, the thesis focuses attention on the causes of the changes of accents in value sphere, initiated in the Enlightenment and leading to postmodern situation. Furthermore, the thesis resumes the problem of personal moral development, describes the situation of moral education at school and tries to identify these methods of moral education which could be used in the moral education considering the contemporary situation in society and the trends in the value orientation of children and youth. In this context, the thesis also looks for the answer on question, which values are nowadays necessary to be educated. Genetic engineering as a source of moral dilemmas a comparison of argumentation of Christians and atheists

The aim of this bachelor thesis is to answer the question whether there is a difference between the moral decisions of Christians and atheists in the Czech society. To find the answer, the autor uses moral dilemmas regarding genetic engineering. The author assumes that the contemporary society is secularized and religion is loosing it's influence to people. This fact also means a threat to the traditional moral order in the society and disputes between religion and science. Corresponding question is what keeps the moral order in society. Using qualitative research, it was explored if the moral decisions of Christians are based on the Christian Ethics, what role does the God, as the moral authority, play in their moral decisions making and if a similar authority in the moral decisions of atheists can be found. This paper also applies to the research already processed about the moral decisions making and about the morals, religion and science link. These research had become the basis for the data analysis after. To collect the data, the autor had used the focus group method. Two focus groups had been assembled - the first one was made up of Christians, the second one (reference group) was made up by atheists. The basis of both discussions were six moral dilemmas.
